Description

The turkey rolls in sauce are the perfect recipe to gather the whole family around a table and savor a tasty main course.

Usually, the rolls in sauce are prepared with the classic slice of red meat, but they can also be cooked with turkey slices, for a more delicate and digestible dish. In this case, it is better to choose them as thin as possible to facilitate the cooking of the meat, especially inside, and prevent it from drying out. This meat main course, although quite easy to prepare, will certainly not be out of place on the Sunday lunch table.

All that remains is to prepare all the versions to decide which is the best: in the meantime, here is the one of the turkey rolls in sauce!

Procedure

1

Start by preparing the sauce: wash and clean the celery, carrots and onion and chop them finely.
Heat the oil in a pan, add the sauté and cook it over low heat.

2

In the meantime, take care of the turkey rolls. The AIA Thin Turkey Thigh Slices are already the right thickness, so there is no need to beat them with a meat mallet between two sheets of parchment paper to thin them and they can be stuffed directly with ham and cheese. Roll up the meat and close the roll on the long side with a toothpick.

3

At this point, if the onion is transparent, indicating that it is well cooked, slightly raise the heat and add the rolls.
Brown the meat on all sides for about 4-5 minutes and add the tomato sauce.

4

Cover with the lid and cook for about 15-20 minutes on low heat. After this time, remove the lid and continue cooking until the sauce has reached the right consistency (it will take another 10-15 minutes).

Suggestions

The turkey rolls are ready in a short time, they can be cooked in advance and maybe even frozen. In this way, when you come home at the last minute, it only takes a few minutes to heat them up and bring them to the table with a quick side dish.

These tasty rolls lend themselves to many other interpretations, each one better than the last. You can indeed play with the fillings: ham and cheese, aromatic herbs or just cooked ham, but also vegetables, soft cheeses or pesto. All you have to do is choose the version you prefer!
