One large lettuce leaf
Half an onion
Half a glass of tomato puree
4 tablespoons of sugar
1 tablespoon of Worchestershire sauce
3 tablespoons of vinegar
Extra virgin olive oil


What is the original recipe for American hamburgers? It's hard to answer, there are so many versions that it's impossible to take into account all the variations.

One of these is the one with barbecue sauce, very easy to prepare and definitely tasty. Certainly what cannot be missing in the recipe for the American-style hamburger are the french fries which, dipped in bbq sauce, are amazing.

Here's how to proceed with the making of the hamburger.



First of all, prepare the bbq sauce: finely chop the onion and sauté it in a pan with the Worchestershire sauce, the tomato puree, the vinegar, a pinch of salt, a lot of pepper and the sugar.


Cook for 5 minutes over low heat, stirring to blend all the ingredients. Once ready, let it cool down.


Cook the hamburgers on a hot griddle, turning them on both sides.


When they are ready, season them with oil, salt and pepper and serve them on a lettuce plate and with the bbq sauce in a sauce boat.
